Dear supporters of Russia's JW Ban:
by Jehalapeno inthis is the kind of government you are supporting.. over 100 gay men have been sent to concentration camps for homosexuals in chechnya and three people have been killed.. stop supporting fascism.. if you support the russia jw ban, what other thoughts and beliefs are you ok with policing?.
if you support the jw russia ban, have you read george orwell's 1984?
don't you realize you are advocating for literal fascism when you support the banning of a belief system?

A Believer, what do you mean by;" I have studied the trinity "?
If you mean you have read a " wts book " about the trinity this is NOT STUDYING but reading "NONSENSE".
Did you study Plato, Tertullian, Lohse, Fortman, Giustinian, Antenagoras???? If you don't have any skills just read jwfactscom..
The word trinity isn"t the bible? Nor governing body, 1914, jehovah's witnesses etc.
In the name of the father, the son and the holy spirit, ever thought of that??
By the way;" I couldn't care less who is right but since the Jws say that you shouldn't believe in the trinity, most probably ( for Christians ) the trinity is the TRUTH, because Jws are always ( almost ) wrong.
Just get baptized as a Jw ( in the name of the father, the son... ) but remember;" Jws are always wrong ".

Can an atheist date jw?
by concernCitizen inhey everyone!.
first of all, i'm not a jw, in fact i'm an atheist, or if you really want to be technical about it i'm probably something like an agnostic atheist or something.. but, my girlfriend is a jw, she seems very rational about it though, it seems to me that she believes in a lot of it but not exactly all, for instance she does understands and believes in the scientific age of the earth and evolution.. when we started dating almost a year ago she made it clear she as religious person.
i never saw that as a problem, it's not like i'm trying to convert her or she's trying to convert me.

it seems a little bit my story. I married a Jw almost 29 years ago.
For sure I don't know if Italian Jws are different from other Jws in the world but I seems so..
She is and was always very " liberal" and we raised 3 children, non of them are Jws.
She still goes to the KH but only a couple of times a month and that's it. I would compare her to a non practisant catholic but to be honest I have to admit after almost 30 years of experience that I was lucky and met the right girl.
Since your girlfriend decided to stay with a "wordly" guy it means she is not a fanatic but you should pay attention to her Jehovah-friends and family ....
My wife seperated her " personal " religion fron our family life and everything went well

I have tried really hard to be worldly, for ten years, tried to get worldly friends, and get back with family.
by Sledracer ini am so bad at being worldly, it's not like i gave it a good try, we are just not good at it my husband and i, i see him light up as he has started to read the bible again.
i'm good at being a witness, i am accepted, and hold the same beliefs, i have tried to find somewhere else, if there is a place, why hav'n't jehovah and the angels directed me to it?
thank you for all the loving posts, some of them have been just what i needed.

ARE THERE DIFFERENCES BETWEEN ITALIAN, GERMAN AND AMERICAN ( or Anglosaxon countries) JWS ?
by roberto avon inreading many of the posts on this and on other sites i came to this conclusion.
my experiences living among jws are;- my brothers in law are and were entrepeneurs since 25 years working very hard and earning good money.
so they are quite wealthy- they bought nice houses and big cars and go on holiday around the world- we had in our family two dfshipments but there was no shunning- their children had the opportunity to study and for the moment not all became jdubs.- they have an acceptable relationship with the part of non jw familyis this tipically " italian "?

Hello everybody!
by roberto avon inhello everybody,i've been lurking for a while and since i really adore reading the biggest part of the posts, especially this italian ( american) guy about his experiences at bethel in the 70's, i feel a little bit guilty for not participating with my contribute.
i am really so sorry for the people that are suffering because of the wts.my story is a " happy ending " story, i married a jw almost 30 years ago and i am here to tell that we are still very happy.
she is very liberal and our 3 kids are " normal ".

Zana, wow....., you really got the point!!! Bravissima ( I am Italian ) !. It is all about the blood issue, of course I could write a novel about it but it would be boring. When for the first time and that is two years ago my wife heard that her father needed a surgery with a risk of a blood transfusion she told me and tried to convince her father that he had to accept the surgery and eventual blood transfusions and she was very well aware that she could have been disfellowshipped for this. She has an " expired " blood transfusion card as she said to me. Two or three years ago she had a surgery for herself and for the first time in my life I realised what it meant being married to a Jw. Till then she always told everybody that for the kids I was the one who had to decide. When she had the surgery she told the doctors she didn't want a blood transfusion but she didn't inform her congregation about her surgery, only my daughter ( atheist ) and I were surveying her. Everything went well but for me it was as waking up for the first time and that I had been soooo lucky till that time -

My story is a " happy ending " story, I married a Jw almost 30 years ago and I am here to tell that we are still very happy. She is very liberal and our 3 kids are " normal ". Till 2 weeks ago maybe I was convinced that being Catholic , Mormon or Jw was " almost " the same ( of course I did some research and came to another conclusion ).
It is not!!!! My father in law died 1 week ago because 2 years ago he refused a surgery ( bladder cancer ) with the risk of needing a blood tranfusion.
Afer his funeral we went to my wife's brother home where we had a meal with the other relatives ( also non jw's ) and there was a prayer to Jehovah. We looked at eachother ( the non jw's ) and I immagine we were thinking ; " how can you thank someone for taking away 5 years of your father's life ??" -

here is ( a part of my experience )- we didn't marry in the KH and she was reprobed so no dubs at our wedding (with exception of a very nice couple )- our children weren't baptized as Catholics- the cildren were allowed to do all the normal activities including Xmas and birthdays at school- activities as karate, gymnastics and so on- yes at the beginning a lot of meetings assemblies ( I also participated for 4/5 years )and bible teach book for the children- at 8 or 9 my daughter confessed she was an atheist. We ( also my wife ) stood behind her- all the 3 had/ are having a higher educationMy wife is after 28 years, what I call a non practisant Jw (!in the last 3/4 months 2/3 meetings )
